FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How do I contact the band?

When they want their personal e-mail addresses posted on this site, I'll be glad to.

How do I contact the band's management, booking, etc?

Check the contact info page.

Who the hell are you?

Nobody important. I just maintain the Internet presence.

Where do you get your info?

Mostly from the guys themselves and their management. I also maintain contact with various family members, friends, record labels, etc. I don't post any info until I'm asked to. Every now and then little secrets slip on the message board, though.

Where can I snag some fly Clutch duds?

Merch.com has a fine line of official Clutch merchandise with an ever expanding inventory.

I submitted some pics, art, etc. for the site Where is it?

It will show up eventually. I usually wait until I have a pile of stuff to upload, and do it all at once.

Where can I get Pitchfork?

Pitchfork is available on CD from Merch.com.

Good luck finding the vinyl. It's long out of print, and only a few thousand copies exist. Everyone I know that has one is holding on to it. You're best bet is to scour used record stores, auction sites, or check out newsgroups like rec.music.marketplace.vinyl. Every now and then, a copy shows up on ebay, but be prepared to pay a ridiculous amount for it.

What's that thing on the cover of Pitchfork?

The consensus seems to be that it is just an abstract design made from a combination of engine parts.

How 'bout them there promo CD's?

These are a little easier to come across. Most places that sell imports and/or bootleg discs have these. Another good place to look is the newsgroup rec.music.marketplace.cd. Again, auction sites often have promos for sale, often at a ridiculously high price though.

Where can I get copies of all the demos?

Lots of people have copies. Try asking in the trade section of the message board. Unfortunately, I don't have enough free time to sleep, let alone make copies of everything I have. Besides, most of the people on the board have more than I do.

Where can I find guitar/bass tablature?

Some resourceful folks post their interpretations in the Tab Section of the message board.

I want some live Clutch.

Go to the Area 51 Trading Post, or try asking for a trade on the message board.

When is Clutch coming back to (insert your town here)?

If it's not on the tour dates section, I don't know. As soon as I get any touring information, it's up on the page within hours. If you don't see it there, I don't know.

What is The Bakerton Group?

In a nutshell, it's Tim, Dan, and J.P. It's not "Clutch without Neil." It's a completely separate venture altogether. If you go to a show, you can expect an all instrumental set with a couple covers and some original joints smoothed out on a blues type tip. Definitely worth looking into if they play in your area.

You can also get the Bakerton Group's E.P. "Space Guitars" from Merch.com.

What is River Road Records?

Essentially, River Road Records came to be out of necessity. The band had a bunch of songs and wanted to release them, but were "between labels" at the time. It made economical sense to release them themselves. That was "Jam Room." They also used the label as a vehicle to release The Bakerton Group E.P. as well as re-releasing the "Pitchfork" E.P. The live record "Live at the Googolplex" will also be released through River Road. At this point, the label exists to release Clutch/Bakerton Group material only and is not looking for any artists to sign.

Does the band allow taping?

The band themselves has no problem with taping shows and TRADING (not selling) tapes. That doesn't necessarily mean you can just roll in with a DAT or camcorder and expect nobody to care. Many times the venues hosting the band, or the acts they're touring with do not share their views on taping. Your best bet if you want to try and get permission to tape is to show up at the venue a little early, and ask someone that works there who you need to speak to to get permission to tape. Maybe you'll get lucky. DO NOT JUST SHOW UP AND SAY "THE WEB SITE SAID IT WAS OK TO TAPE." It'll get you absolutely nowhere.
